The Indian film industry returned to Innsbruck for another big-budget cinematic production – SAHOO, set to released on the big screen on 30th August 2019!
This mind-bending action-thriller takes viewers on a wild ride throughout the globe, as seemingly unrelated storylines become intertwined in unforeseen plot twists.
In the lead role, Prabhas plays a mysterious cop who keeps the audience guessing until the very end of the film. The role required intense physical preparation including cardiovascular training, weight training, and plyometric obstacle races – one of the many action sequences is rumored to last 20 minutes.
Prabhas is one of the biggest stars in the Indian film industry. He’s stared in a lead role in three of India’s films with the biggest budgets (SAAHO is rumored to have cost 38 million Euros to produce).
Co-star Shraddha Kapoor also plays the role of a cop, even performing some stunts in the film. One of India’s sweethearts in previous roles, she’s taking a huge leap into the role of action heroine alongside Prabhas. Her acting and singing career has helped her amass 32 million followers on Instagram.
Filming SAAHO in Innsbruck
Many pivotal scenes were shot in and around Innsbruck. The official music video for the film features many top tourist attractions which can be visited with the Innsbruck Welcome Unlimited: Swarovski Crystal Worlds and “Top of Tirol” viewpoint at Stubai Glacier, for example.
I’m not allowed to reveal any details, but I can also share that Adlers Hotel is the location for one of the most important scenes in the film. Other locations and backdrops include the Golden Roof, House of Music in the old town, and Nordkette mountain range.
The production team was extremely pleased with their experience in Innsbruck, often raving about their experience on their Instagram accounts.

If you’re a film freak, you might also want to visit shooting locations from other big box office hits like “Tiger Zinda Hai”, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, “Chal Mere Bhai”, “Yuvvraaj” and the TV series “Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil” with the Bollywood Tour.
You can even stay in the same rooms and eat in the same restaurants as stars like Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif. Many of the locations can be experienced without the big film production budget.
